This contemporary ballet piece opened our fall concert my senior year. It was challenging learning this piece considering the fact that ballet is not my forte. Overall, it was such a clean piece that we all adored.

This was a student choreography piece by Elena Cano that debuted in our fall concert. Our song choice was "Late Night Feelings" by Mark Ronson. It was fun to be able to learn choreography that was light and entertaining for my last fall concert.

This piece was another student choreography by Georgeanna Vasquez. Our choreographer shared a particular interest in the movie "Twilight" and we used a famous song from the soundtrack. This made it so much fun to learn and participate in. It challenged me to show intensity and sass.

This fun piece ended our Fall concert my senior year. The song is "Tightrope" by Janelle Monáe. Learning this dance was really fun because our teacher would ask if some movements were okay or not, and we got to give input to make it fun. This whimsical piece was my personal favorite.

Our freshman year dances were both choreographed by student interns from ASU. This one had African touches to it and our choreographer wanted intensity and sharpness. This being one of my first dances in a concert at South, I found it quite difficult to learn this. I pushed through and as a class, we gave a great performance.

This piece was choreographed by another student intern from ASU. The dance was to highlight accents from African dancing and used great intensity. Learning this piece was difficult only because I personally felt like I was mocking the culture but the teacher had a long talk with us to reassure us. The guilt switched over fast and we were all able to perform a strong piece in our freshman spring concert.

This jazz piece was a part of our Winter Showcase my freshman year. It was challenging for me personally because I was way too shy to go out and perform this somewhat "sassy" piece. This piece also required some improvisation for poses which I completely despised but still pushed through. Overall, it was a fun piece and I enjoyed it. I'd say that this piece was the reason I started to warm up easily to performing on a stage since it challenged me so much.
